This year's conference theme is Empowering Minds, Expanding Mathematical Horizons. The theme speaks to our desire to provide students with learning experiences that help them develop reasoning and problem solving skills. We want them to recognize that they have the power over mathematics rather than mathematics having power over them. Students need to see that mathematics can open doors to rich futures and help them to realize their potential to do what they might have viewed as difficult or impossible. We also want our conference to empower teachers as they strive to respond to the Georgia Student Bill of Rights, including "The right to more instructional time and less screen time" and "The right to be worth more than a high-stakes test score." We hope you will consider how your session proposal can empower students and teachers to reach new heights and envisioned futures they might have not yet imagined.
